Scott is a native to Northern Michigan. After fulfilling his commitment to the United States Coast Guard in 1998, he became involved in the field of construction. Scott’s military experience has helped him manage projects with a high degree of ethics, professionalism, and pride. 

He strives to produce the best product for every client and holds the Mapleridge Team to a high standard of performance and quality. “I have always had a passion for building high end homes.

Scott Naumes

I strive to create a positive experience for the homeowner through all phases of construction. 

I enjoy the challenge of integrating custom details and taking a home from ordinary to extraordinary.” Scott enjoys spending his free time with his beautiful wife Darcy and their daughter Ella. Some of his favorite activities include traveling, cooking, boating, and fly fishing.

Chris was born and raised in beautiful Northern Michigan. His passion for the construction field started at an early age when he was first employed by his family’s construction business in 1995.

This drove him to start “Mapleridge Construction” based out of Traverse City in 2006. "I strive to create a total team effort to ensure our clients are delivered a home of outstanding quality based on their specifications, desires, and budget.

Chris Miller 

My true passion is in the finishing end of the building process with trim details, stairways, and high-end quality built-in cabinetry. 

Finish work can really bring out a home’s true attributes.” Chris enjoys spending time with his family, his wife Sasha and two girls Chloe’ and Mia. In his spare time Chris enjoys traveling, the outdoors, fly fishing, and cooking.

Kristal is a longtime resident of Northern Michigan. With a love of organization and attention to detail, she found herself right at home studying Business and Accounting at Northwestern Michigan College.

“I have developed a love of the whole home building process, from first dream inspired prints to last breath taking glances after vacuuming the end construction dust. I look forward to working with you on the “Paper side” of your home building process, ensuring to keep you updated and informed from start to finish."

Office Manager 

Kristal Hitchcock

Kristal has been with Mapleridge since 2010 as the Office manager as well as Director of  Company Safety program and the OSHA Safety Trainer. 

Kristal enjoys practicing yoga, hosting woman’s bible studies at her home and exploring Northern Michigan with her husband, children, and dog. 

Karl Hitchcock is a project manager for Mapleridge Construction. His daily responsibilities include design, estimating, scheduling, and communication with sub-contractors and clients.

Karl has been working in the residential building industry for nearly 20 years. He started off as a draftsman and framing laborer and worked up to running his own framing and siding company. Karl enjoys all the details that go into a custom build and being prepared for them early on in the project.

He likes to figure out the small details in the framing stage that will be important in the final stages.

Karl moved to Traverse City from Estes Park, Colorado. He enjoys spending time outdoors in  Northern Michigan with his wife, children, and dog. 

I worked up the ranks in my Father's construction company starting as a laborer at 10 through rough faming, siding & trim in my 20's. I've also built five personal homes for my family in my "spare time" over the past 30 years completing a good portion of the work myself. 

The building process has always intrigued me and I enjoy making it a pleasurable experience for my clients. One of my favorite projects was an “extreme home makeover” and construction of a 2,600 sf workout facility for a former NHL player that was completed from start to finish in 10 months.

Jim Petaja 

My objective will always be to deliver top-notch project management, professionally executed construction with great solutions delivered on-time and within budget to completely satisfied clients who enjoyed the experience.

The loves of my life include my 47 year marriage to my wife Shannon, our 3 children (Shea, Tec & McKrai), our daughter-in-law Chelsea and our 2 amazing grandchildren.

Shannon and I enjoy day trips around Northern MI, trips to see the kids in Nashville, playing pickle-ball and hanging out in Elk Rapids. I also play ice hockey weekly on 2 teams and in 4 hockey tournaments a year.

Mia was born and raised in Northern Michigan and has been with the Mapleridge team since September of 2021. Always having a love for art, graphic design, and interior design, it comes naturally to her and is enjoyable to create content for Mapleridge. You may catch her in the office editing or even on the job site capturing progress content of your home! 

In her free time Mia enjoys spending time with her family on Torch Lake, staying active, and exploring her love of interior decoration by helping friends and family make their dream rooms come to life!

Olivia was born and raised in Northern Michigan. As a graduate of Traverse City Central High school she spent her senior year interning with Mapleridge. She attended Oakland University studying dance and business. She returned to Traverse City and with her love of organization and attention to detail Mapleridge is a perfect fit for her as the administrative assistant. She looks forward to work on the paper side of your build. 

In her free time Olivia loves relaxing with her family and friends. Olivia and David are overjoyed to have welcomed their firstborn, Milo in June. 

Sam Nooney

Project Manager

Sam grew up in Northwest Michigan but currently resides in Alden Michigan. He has been in home building for over 20 years and also built the home his family lives in now. He loves residential construction because it combines so many of his interests: craftmanship, relationships, design, and optimizing systems. He enjoys getting to know people and their pursuits and translating that relationship into their home.

Sam has been married to his wife Janel since 2005, and together they have six children. Five boys and one girl. In his free time he loves spending time with his family, volunteering at New Hope Community Church, having bonfires, spending time at the lake, and camping.
